To celebrate Easter, we decided to finally check out IMG Worlds of Adventure. We knew it’s a mega indoor theme park but honestly, only looked forward to seeing the MARVEL zone. We grew up visiting indoor entertainment destinations and from what we’ve experienced, they were limited to low height, underwhelming rides (except of course Ferrari World’s Formula Rossa and Flying Aces). But IMG has unexpectedly changed the game and the way we’ll look at indoor amusement parks forever!

IMG has four adventures zones. Two of them represent global brands MARVEL and Cartoon Network, and the other two, IMG Boulevard and the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure are original concepts. Each boasts its own selection of rides and attractions, stores selling really unique merchandise, and F&B offerings that can appeal to both the young and the young-at-heart! 😉

Must-try rides for thrill-seekers:

  1. The Velociraptor
  2. Predator
  3. Spider Man Doc Ock’s Revenge
  4. Avengers Battle of Ultron
  5. The Haunted Hotel

The first three prove that adrenaline-pumping rides don’t have to be the longest or tallest. All of them last no more than a minute and even look harmless, yet the speed, corkscrew, loops, dives, twists and turns made our stomachs churn, we clearly miscalculated them! The fourth one is a unique 4D ride while the fifth is impressive because of the actors, the props, and the set.

If you are an Iron Man fan like Tim, you’d be glad to know that you can dine at Tony’s Skydeck, and for a separate fee of AED99 (USD 27), be Iron Man for about five minutes. Watch the video to find out how the transformation happened. They gave the file to us in a cool Iron Man USB, which was a perfect souvenir alongside of course, Tim’s other Iron Man loots.

On our way out, we were already talking about coming back when we have friends visiting us (perfect excuse). And after learning never to underestimate indoor theme parks, we’ll come prepared next time and be sure NOT to eat a lot before any ride. 😉
